Cinderella Drama and Script

For our english project, we recreated a popular disney drama called Cinderella. There were seven of us, so we had to make the drama simpler. With good teamwork we managed to perform the drama with only 7 people. I also included the rough copy of the Cinderella story down below. While performing we improvised the script, so the on in here is just a rough copy.

Cinderella

Narrator: 

Once upon a time, there lived a beautiful girl named Cinderella. Her mother passed away and her father was now married to another woman, Lady Tremaine. Not long after their marriage, Cinderella’s father died. She now lived with her stepmother and stepsister (Anastasia). Ever since her father died, her stepmother and stepsister treated her badly.

Scene 1:

Anastasia:” CINDERELLA!”

Cinderella:” Yes sister.”

Anastasia:” why haven’t you mopped the floor? And why haven’t you ironed my dresses?!”

Cinderella:” I’m sorry sister, I—.”

Anastasia:” I didn’t say you could speak yet. Just wait until mother gets here.”

Lady Tremaine:” What is it with all the screaming?!”

Anastasia:” Mother! She wouldn’t do as I say and look, she hasn’t even mopped the floor.”

Lady Tremaine:” Oh dear. Now Cinderella, I want you to make breakfast, mop the floor, and then iron our dresses. If I see you disobeying your sister again, there will be no dinner for you tonight.”

Cinderella:” yes mother.”

Narrator: And so, Cinderella did as what her mother told her to do. At the end of the day, she was still grateful for what she had. (acts out the scene)

in the palace

King:’’ My son, soon you will replace me and become king. Please for the sake of this kingdom, you must get married soon.’’

Prince:’’ But father, I don’t want to get married.’’

King:’’ You have too. Tonight, I will throw a ball for you to look for a wife.’’

Narrator: and so, the king ordered his men to make the special announcement.

The guard:” Attention please! Invitations from the palace. There will be a ball held in honor of the prince. Every maiden is invited to attend the ball.”

Scene 2:

Anastasia:” mother, did you hear? There’s going to be a ball at the palace!”

Lady Tremaine:” How delightful! Cinderella!”

Cinderella:” yes mother.”

Lady Tremaine:” Bring out two dresses for the ball tonight.”

Cinderella:” Oh thank you for the dress mother, it’s very kind of you.”

Lady Tremaine:” Your dress? The dresses are for me and Anastasia. Now be a good girl and help your sister fit into her gown.”

Cinderella sighs:” Of course mother.”

Narrator: Cinderella longed to go to the ball. So, she worked hard to finished her work early. With the help of a few mice friends, she finished her work and made her gown from a few things her sister has thrown away (acts out the scene)

Cinderella:” we are ready mother.”

Lady Tremaine:” We? You are not going to the ball.”

Cinderella:” but, they say that every maiden is invited.”

smiles horrifyingly Lady Tremaine:” Oh look Anastasia, isn’t that your necklace? Oh, and your silk she’s wearing?”

gasps Anastasia:” Yes it is, give that back!”

—> in this scene Anastasia will (pretend) to tore apart Cinderella’s gown. Cinderella cries and ran to the back garden, where she will meet the fairy godmother.

Props: 

-Carriage (fake)

-Cinderella’s dress           

-Pumpkin (Fake)

-Toy mice

Fairy godmother:” There’s no need to cry Cinderella.”

looks up Cinderella:” who are you?”

Fairy godmother:” I’m your fairy godmother of course. Now, we must hurry if you want to get to the ball on time.”

Cinderella:’’ But I-‘’

Fairy godmother interrupts:” you need a carriage and some horses.”

Fairy godmother:” there we go. And of course, you will need a new dress.”

—> turns pumpkin into a carriage and mice into horses. Change Cinderella’s gown and give glass slippers

Cinderella:” Thank you fairy godmother.” while looking at her reflection

Fairy godmother:” now remember, the spell only last until the last stroke of midnight. By then the magic will disappear and everything will change back to the way it was.”

Cinderella:” of course fairy godmother, thank you again.”

Scene 3: (the ball)

Cinderella walks into the ballroom and caught the prince’s attention. Anastasia walks up to the prince

Anastasia:’’ Your Majesty, may I request a dance with you.’’

Prince:’’ I’m sorry, but I want to dance with someone else.’’

leaves Anastasia and walk towards Cinderella

Prince:’’ Good evening. May I have this dance?’’

Cinderella:’’ Of course.’’

music begins and they start to dance

Anastasia:’’ This is so unfair!’’ scoffs and walk towards Lady Tremaine

(In this scene Lady Tremaine will comfort her daughter, and both of them will go to backstage)

Continues dancing

Narrator (optional): Time goes by quickly and before sherealized it, the clock struck 12.

Cinderella turns her head around when she hears the clock strike 12

Cinderella:’’ Oh, it’s midnight. I have to go and I just want to let you know I had a great time.’’

clock struck again for the second time

Cinderella:’’ I really have to go. Goodbye.’’ runs away from the prince towards the courtyard

Prince *calls out to Cinderella:’’ Wait! Please! What’s your name? Where do you live?’’

Acts out the scene: Cinderella kept running but loses one of her slippers. She was about to get it when she saw the prince and so she left it by the steps while continue running towards her carriage. The prince picked up the glass slipper.

Narrator: The prince was dedicated to find his princess. Heordered all the guards to bring the slipper and asked every maiden in the land to try it on. The word began to spread and soon everyone was talking about it.

Scene 4:

Cinderella’s house in the morning

Acts out the scene (Narrator is optional): Cinderella was very happy when she heard the news so she went to her attic to find the glass slipper.

Searches for the glass slipper

Lady Tremaine:’’ Looking for this?’’ walks out, bringing the glass slipper

Lady Tremaine:’’ To be honest, I was a little shocked. I won’t let them find you, Cinderella.’’

locks Cinderella

Cinderella:’’ No, wait! Please let me out!’’  cries

Scene 5:

knocks on the door

Lady Tremaine opens the door and lets the guard and the prince in.

Lady Tremaine:’’ Anastasia! Come here and try on that slipper.’’

Anastasia:’’ Yes, mother.’’ tries the slipper ‘’It won’t fit.’’ hears singing

Guard:’’ Who’s singing that? It sounds like it’s coming from the attic.’’ goes to the attic

Lady Tremaine:’’ T-that’s just our servant.’’ follows the prince and guard, while trying to stop him

The guard open the attic and saw Cinderella singing.

Guard:’’ Young maiden, you must try on the slipper.’’

walks toward the guard and tried the slipper on (fits)

Guard:’’ She is the princess. You will go to the palace to meet the prince.’’

Lady Tremaine and Anastasia were shocked

Lady Tremaine:’’ Cinderella. We are very sorry for what we’ve done to you. I hope you could forgive me and Anastasia.’’

Cinderella:’’ Of course I forgive you mother. You’re my family and want you to live in the palace with me.’’

Anastasia:’’ Oh thank you Cinderella!’’

Goes to backstage

Narrator: Cinderella, her stepmother, and her stepsister went to the palace to meet the prince. Not long after Cinderella and the prince got married. They now live happily ever after.
